This Wednesday morning I woke up and came up with a short poem while in that semi-conscious state. So, I got up, wrote it down, then went right back to sleep. I ended up presenting it "later that same day..." at the Poets Against the War event. Here it is (to be read in beat-style with slight hip-hop flavorings):
The warmongers.
They say that to preach the peace is,
Heretical.
But my heart,
it's smart,
it knows that's antithetical
to the meaning of life
we must pull away from the strife
and seek to embrace here the poetical.
